Providential Pictures Inks Deal With Chuck Swindoll & Insight for Living To Create First 3-D Animated Video Series - Available Fall 2004

TORONTO, CANADA-- July 22, 2004-- Providential Pictures, a newly formed Christian film studio, has inked a long-term, multiple episode deal with Chuck Swindoll’s radio ministry, Insight for Living to produce the first 3-D animated video series of their popular weekly children’s radio drama Paws & Tales. This beloved and highly successful radio drama program, created by David Carl and broadcast throughout North America on 450 outlets, is based originally on a book by Chuck Swindoll.

Paws & Tales teaches biblical principles in a way that is both entertaining and life changing. Through story and song, each Paws & Tales episode serves up a cast of animal characters who experience exciting adventures while learning important lessons to which children of all ages can relate. "I am continually amazed at the impact a simple, carefully worded story can have on young lives. Nothing quiets them quicker or so completely captures their curiosity,” states Chuck Swindoll. “Our hope at Insight for Living is that Paws & Tales The Animated Video Series©, just like the episodes on the radio, will provide families with more opportunities to discuss the really important things in life. I can think of no better springboard for those meaningful conversations than through Paws & Tales."

Providential Pictures, a Christian film company with a strong evangelical foundation was created to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and communicate sound biblical values through media productions of the highest artistic and biblical standards that are family friendly, educative and entertaining. With Paws & Tales The Animated Series©, Providential Pictures aims to fill a void in children’s video product.

Keen on raising the bar on quality of Christian animated product, Providential Pictures insisted on hiring a top level team for their animation division, Go-Kart Animation. Go-Kart is using the same animated software as Shrek, Ice Age and Lord of the Rings to create each 30 minute Paws & Tales The Animated Series© episode. Furthermore, Providential Pictures flew to Insight for Living’s Texas-based studios to record the voice tracks with the same actors used in the radio series.

The first episode of Paws & Tales The Animated Series© is titled ‘Seeing the Unseen©’ and will be available in North American Christian bookstores this fall with an MSRP of $17.99 for DVD and $14.99 for VHS. A world-wide release will follow. For U.S. distributor information contact Tim Hetchler of Wescott Marketing (1-800-788-0442).
